Wednesday, May 10, is the day to GiveBIG to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Until midnight May 10, donations to SCCA made through The Seattle Foundation will be stretched for an even greater impact. GiveBIG’s goal is to inspire people to give generously to nonprofit organizations that make our region such a great place to live.
On this #GivingTuesday, we would like to share some of the ways our community is supporting SCCA. We’d like to thank all of the local organizations and businesses that have recently gone the extra mile for us. We would also like to invite you to donate to SCCA today! Thank you! Meridian Valley Country Club’s Hit Fore the House The Ladies Division of the Meridian Valley Country Club raised $20,000 for SCCA with their August event. This golf tournament started in 2012 and benefits the SCCA House.
Here’s a quick roundup of local events to benefit SCCA. For information on how you can get involved with SCCA – by volunteering, sponsoring a community event or making a donation—check out our How to Help page. Movember at Hop Jack's Even if you're not growing a mo for Movember, you can still support awareness for men's health by stopping by Hop Jack's and ordering a "mustache drink" where one dollar for every drink will be donated to SCCA.
Just because fall is approaching doesn't mean you have to stay indoors and hibernate. Here are two upcoming local events that will keep you active and benefit SCCA. Both events are scheduled for the same date so you have the hard decision of choosing between climbing stairs or riding your bike! Bob Miller Memorial Bike Ride Grab your bike and friends for a morning ride in Snoqualmie. The 21-mile scenic ride will begin at 11 a.m., September 20 near Snoqualmie Falls. Bob Miller was an avid local cyclist who passed away from lung cancer five years ago. This is Bob's favorite riding route that people of all skill levels can enjoy.
